The principals of Discoveries in Art, Terri and Steven Certilman, have traveled the Caribbean and Latin America collecting art for more than twenty years. After many years of art hunting in Haiti, they now center their efforts in Cuba, where opportunities to find new and exciting art are limitless. Discoveries in Art was founded in 2001 with the company’s first commercial show, Nuevo Arte de Cuba, held at the Flinn Gallery in Greenwich, Connecticut. The mission of Discoveries In Art is to promote goodwill, understanding, respect and appreciation between the peoples of the United States and their neighbors to the south. By focusing on the art of Cuba, the Carribbean and Central and South America, we hope to highlight a common denominator between us all - creativity. To do that, Discoveries in Art organizes and produces exhibitions of Cuban and other art and lends works to other exhibitions. In the future we hope to bring Cuban artists to America for special programs and workshops. All of our works are available for loan or purchase. |
