Lissette Solórzano

Lissette Solórzano is a professional photographer living and working in Havana . She studied fine arts, design and photography and in the 1990´s Lissette begun working in photojournalism and enjoying the publication of her work in specialized magazines in Cuba, the United States and Europe. She has had over 30 personal exhibitions and more than 60 collective shows in Cuba and abroad. She has also served as faculty in conferences, workshops and master classes in different institutions and universities in the US, Canada, Venezuela and Philippines. She has several prizes and recognitions to her credit, including the 1995 Tina Modotti of Cuban Press Award and the National Curatorship Award. In 2005 she won a creation scholarship with the group Cara and Cabezas Contemporary. Among her most outstanding publications: The photo of her mother, Plastics of the 90´s and intime visini, and Reflections: The Sensationalism of the Art from Cuba. Lissette’s works are part of public and private collections as Casa de las Americas, Photographic Library of Cuba (Fototeca de Cuba), Center for Cuban Studies in NY, Harvard University, Museum of Las Americas in Denver, US, the Galleryof Milan, Gallery Novoarte of NY, The Brevard Museum of Art and the National Center of Photography in Venezuela. She is member of the National Association of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) and has served as the vice-president of the photographic section.
