Adislen works largely in paper, often re-purposing leftover pieces into new works. She is a graduate of San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts and the Instituto Superior de Arte, where she is now a professor of printmaking. Her works have been exhibited extensively in Havana and throughout Cuba, as well as in Miami, San Francisco, Washington DC, Boston, Beijing, Berlin and Madrid. She writes:
The patience that accompanies the wait,
the wait that steals our life awaiting great opportunities,
great opportunities that end up annihilating the little things,
things that can mean more than that longed for future that still does not arrive.
