Noah's Ark (La Arca de Noah)
Framed by the Artist. The sunlight in this painting represents optimism after trying times. In Spanish, time and weather have the same word: tiempo. It is still raining but in the background appears a ray of hope. The mast is a tree of life. The ship, an island floating in the middle of the sea. A place of survivors. The dripping border in the foreground is the end of the earth as conceived by ancient cartographers. As the cow calmly drifts toward the abyss, resigned to its fate, a dove has flown in with a laurel leaf. Land is near.
